Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about the Goodyear Foundation, our programs, and how to get involved.
Foundation & Mission
What is the Goodyear Foundation?
The Goodyear Foundation is a mission-driven nonprofit focused on real people in real communities. We support mental health, chronic illness awareness (including CADASIL), youth resilience, elder wellbeing, and nervous system education. Our work is grounded in Wyoming, but the impact is meant to reach far beyond it.
Where is the Goodyear Foundation located?
We're based in Sheridan, Wyoming — the community that shaped my life. It's the starting point, not the finish line.
Is the Goodyear Foundation a 501(c)(3) nonprofit?
Yes. Donations go directly toward programs, education, and community support.
What makes the Goodyear Foundation different from other nonprofits?
We don't pretend to be everything. We focus on what matters: mental health literacy, nervous system regulation, chronic illness awareness, real community connection, youth and elder support. And we do it with empathy, honesty, and zero bureaucracy.
Programs & Wellness
What kind of programs does the Goodyear Foundation offer?
We offer resources, workshops, education, and community experiences centered around: emotional regulation, wellness tools, chronic illness literacy, youth and elder resilience, community-building events. Nothing medical — just practical, human support.
What is Goodyear Wellness?
It's the program arm of the foundation. Think of it as the engine where the work actually happens: tools, education, community experiences, and practical support.
Do you provide therapy or medical treatment?
No. We don't diagnose, treat, or replace medical professionals. We educate, support, and guide — and point you to trusted resources when needed.
Who can participate in your programs?
Anyone. Youth, families, elders, people navigating chronic illness, or anyone who wants to understand their health and nervous system better. Our work is for the community, not a niche.
CADASIL & Chronic Illness
What is CADASIL?
CADASIL is a rare genetic neurological condition that affects blood flow in the brain and can lead to migraines, strokes, and cognitive changes. It's complicated — but we help make it easier to understand.
How do you support people with CADASIL or other chronic illnesses?
With clarity, education, and community. We create resources, connect families, share stories, and bridge the gap between medical information and real life.
Do you work with hospitals or medical experts?
Yes — through collaboration, not treatment. We share trusted research from places like Mayo Clinic, Yale, and others. We're not doctors, but we help people understand what doctors are saying.
Local Nakamal
What is Local Nakamal – A Goodyear Wellness Café?
It's an alcohol-free wellness café and third space in Sheridan. A place to slow down, breathe, connect, and feel human again — tea, kava-inspired drinks, cold plunge, sauna, sound therapy, youth nights, and community events.
Is Local Nakamal a sober bar?
No. We're not a recovery bar. We're not a "sober bar." Local Nakamal is a wellness café built around connection, nervous system regulation, and intentional experiences.
What kind of experiences do you offer at Local Nakamal?
Tea, functional drinks, oxygen bar, cold plunge, sauna, sound therapy, youth events, elder hours, and community gatherings. It's a wellness-centered third space — not a bar.
Wyo Stays & Ecosystem
How is Wyo Stays connected to the Goodyear Foundation?
Wyo Stays is part of the broader Goodyear ecosystem. Hospitality, real estate, and community impact all intersect. Revenue, partnerships, and visibility from Wyo Stays help fuel the mission.
Can staying at a Wyo Stays property support the foundation's work?
Indirectly, yes. Wyo Stays helps fund community efforts and provides the economic stability needed to grow the foundation's programs. When you stay with us, you're supporting more than just a booking.
